Librarians Day Celebrated at Madhab Choudhury College

Madhab Choudhury College marked National Librarians Day celebrating birth anniversary of Padmashree Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the father of librarianship in India. The event organized by the Kameswar Das Library, Madhab Choudhury College was presided over by the college’s Principal Dr. Prakash Sarma.

The event was graced by esteemed educationist and writer Shri Akshay Kumar Mishra and Shri Manjit Pathak, Assistant Professor, Madhab Choudhury College. In his keynote speech, Mishra highlighted on the life and works of Dr. Ranganathan. He also inaugurated the new ‘Book of the Month’ feature in the Library, aimed at promoting reading and highlighting significant literary works. Professor Pathak stressed on the use of library for book reading and creative writing in his speech.

Additionally, the ‘Best Library User Award’ was presented to Miss Mehboob Islam in recognition of her exceptional engagement with the library’s resources. The celebration underscored the vital role of librarians in supporting academic and personal growth.

At the end, Librarian Kangkana Goswami offered vote of thanks.
