Guwahati, Nov 17: The Kamrup District Administration, in collaboration with the District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO), observed National Press Day at the PWD conference hall in Amingaon on Sunday. The event was part of the state-wide celebration of the occasion.
In his welcome address, Kamrup Deputy Commissioner Deba Kumar Mishra emphasized the media’s role as the “fourth pillar of democracy” and stressed the importance of impartial and responsible journalism. Highlighting the evolving media landscape, he remarked that print media continues to maintain its credibility in delivering authentic news.
The program also featured contributions from journalists of Kamrup district, who elaborated on the significance of National Press Day, underlining its importance in promoting press freedom and ethical journalism.
