The exhibition, hosted at The Folly, Amethyst on Whites Road, Royapettah, runs from January 18th to 27th, 2025, offering an intimate glimpse into the six-decade-long photographic journey of the iconic artist.

Curated from a treasure trove of over 20,000 photographs, the exhibition reveals Navroze Contractor’s distinct perspective on the world. It not only showcases his work but also serves as a medium to rediscover the man behind the lens—a creative soul who used photography as a means to enrich his life and interpret the world.

The retrospective is a heartfelt tribute by his friends, curated by Anuj Ambala, Himanshu Panchal, and Sanjiv Shah, who aim to honor his legacy and celebrate his multifaceted personality. Alongside the exhibition, a book titled ‘Photography Strictly Prohibited’ has been published by Navjivan Trust. This publication complements the exhibition by compiling selected photographs, interviews, excerpts from Contractor’s own writings, and reflections by those who knew him closely.
