GUWAHATI,Nov 7:In connection with the ongoing 26th Boko Anchalik Raas festival, a special ceremonial event was held on the second day of the festival, during which 26 traditional lamps (bontis) were lit, symbolizing the 26 glorious years of the celebration. The lamp-lighting ceremony was graced by Hitesh Kalita, Accountant of the Rampur Block Elementary Education Officer, who inaugurated the evening’s proceedings by lighting the first lamp.
The Raas festival, which commenced on November 5, will continue until November 15, featuring a wide array of religious, cultural, and traditional performances inspired by the life and teachings of Lord Krishna.
Since its inception, the Boko Regional Raas Mahotsav has been a vibrant platform promoting the region’s rich cultural heritage and spiritual devotion. The lighting of 26 lamps stood as a symbolic gesture of unity, faith, and continuity—reflecting the festival’s journey over the years and the collective effort of organizers, devotees, and local residents in preserving this age-old tradition.
