Kokrajhar, June 28: The 28th death anniversary of Bodoland movement leader and the founding president of the Bodo Liberation Tigers (BLT) Bir Chilagang Basumatary, was observed in a solemn and united manner at Bongsigaon, Kokrajhar.
The event witnessed the participation of several key leaders from across the political spectrum, including Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Chief Executive Member Pramod Boro, former BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary, Rajya Sabha MP Jayanta Basumatary, East Kokrajhar MLA Lawrence Islary, and ABSU Vice President Kwrwmdao Wary, among others. Floral tributes were paid at the memorial site.
In a rare show of unity, leaders from both the UPPL and BPF parties shared the stage, setting aside political differences to honour the late leader’s contributions.
