New Bongaigaon, July 19: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Railway Police today seized a large quantity of ganja from the Dibrugarh-New Delhi Rajdhani Express during a routine inspection at New Bongaigaon railway station.
The operation led to the recovery of 75.4 kilograms of ganja and the arrest of three alleged suppliers traveling on the train.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Bappi Sarkar (35), Naba Das (29), and Sanjay Singh (26), all residents of Udalguri district.
According to railway police, the accused had packed the ganja into two bundles and concealed them in four trolley bags with the intention of transporting it to Uttar Pradesh. The raid was led by Sub-Inspector Sanjeev Choudhury of the New Bongaigaon Railway Police.
