AZARA, June 23: Preparations are in full swing for a special felicitation programme being organised by the Greater Agchia–Majirgaon Regional Unit of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) under the South Kamrup Regional Committee. The event is scheduled to be held on June 30 at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Auditorium in Agchia with a day-long programme.
According to the organisers, the programme will begin at 10 am with the hoisting of the AASU flag by the unit president, Saurav Kakoti, followed by a tribute to martyrs at 10:30 am by general secretary Dhritishman Baishya.
The formal felicitation meeting will commence at 11 am and will be inaugurated by South Kamrup AASU president Bedabrata Das. During the programme, meritorious students from the region who successfully passed the 2026 High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination with distinction will be felicitated with certificates of appreciation and traditional Assamese gamosas.
The organisers have appealed to the public for their valuable suggestions, presence and cooperation to ensure the success of the event.
