GUWAHATI: A COVID-19 positive boy from Jorhat has created panic among the people as he had attended a wedding party and clicked selfies with many others in the party. He also visited the local market and came in contact with a number of people.
The patient has been identified as Lakshyajit Bordoli, a resident of bylane number 1 of Sonari Gaon.
Bordoloi often keeps visiting Diphu for his office related works and became sick a few days back. On his visit to the hospital, authorities conducted his Swab test in Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) and he tested COVID-19 positive on Saturday.
Bordoloi also attended a marriage party in his village on June 16 where he met a number of people and also took selfies, floating social distancing norms. He also visited various places in Jorhat district and came into contact with many people during this time. This has created panic among the people of Jorhat.
On 21 June Jorhat district administration has sealed the bylane after Lakshyajit Bordoloi tested COVID-19 positive.
Meanwhile, authorities have identified the people Bordoloi came in contact with and have taken their Swab for COVID-19 testing and are currently kept under home quarantine.
