Rs. 1.5 Lakh Assistance for Foreign Language Training and Overseas Employment Preparation
GUWAHATI, July 10: The Assam Government has announced a series of youth-centric initiatives aimed at enhancing global employability and developing creative talent, including the expansion of the Chief Minister’s Foreign Language Initiative for Global Human Talent (CM-FLIGHT) scheme and the introduction of a new Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) Talent Development Policy.
The initiatives are part of the government’s broader vision to equip the youth of Assam with industry-relevant skills and create new opportunities in both international and emerging sectors.
CM-FLIGHT Scheme Expanded
Under the expanded CM-FLIGHT scheme, the government will include English, German, and other foreign languages to strengthen overseas workforce readiness.
Eligible candidates will receive financial assistance of Rs. 1.5 lakh each for foreign language training and overseas workforce preparation, enabling them to access employment opportunities in global markets.
New AVGC-XR Policy for Creative Industries
The government also announced that it will introduce a comprehensive Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics and Extended Reality (AVGC-XR) Talent Development Policy.
The policy aims to equip Assam’s creative youth with world-class skills, industry exposure, and global opportunities in the rapidly growing AVGC-XR sector. The initiative is expected to foster innovation, encourage skill development, and create new career pathways in digital content creation and immersive technologies.
The twin initiatives reflect the government’s focus on preparing Assam’s youth for emerging industries and the global job market through targeted skill development and capacity-building programmes.
