Assam Govt to Select 50,000 More Youth Under CMAAA; 75,000 Beneficiaries Receive First Instalment

State Expands Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan

GUWAHATI, July 10: The Assam Government has announced a major expansion of the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan (CMAAA), with the selection process set to begin for 50,000 new beneficiaries during the current financial year.

The announcement comes after the successful implementation of the earlier two phases of the flagship self-employment scheme, which aims to promote entrepreneurship and generate sustainable livelihood opportunities for the youth of Assam.

75,000 Beneficiaries Receive First Instalment

Under CMAAA 2.0, a total of 75,000 beneficiaries have already received the first instalment of Rs. 75,000 each to help them establish and expand their entrepreneurial ventures.

The State Government has also confirmed that the remaining Rs. 25,000 will be released during the current financial year after beneficiaries successfully complete the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP).

Focus on Self-Reliance and Entrepreneurship

Building on the success of the previous editions of the scheme, the government will now initiate the selection of another 50,000 eligible youth under the programme. The initiative is aimed at encouraging self-employment, nurturing entrepreneurship, and creating economic opportunities across Assam.

The Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Asom Abhijan has emerged as one of the State’s flagship initiatives to empower young entrepreneurs by providing financial assistance, skill development, and institutional support for launching sustainable business ventures.
