Dhaligaon, Chirang | July 6: The second executive meeting of the Assam Sahitya Sabha for the 2025–27 term was held today at the Bongaigaon Refinery Recreation Centre, Dhaligaon in Chirang district.
The day-long session was organized by the Chirang District Sahitya Sabha and hosted by the Dhaligaon Branch. Proceedings began with the flag hoisting by Dharmeswar Das, president of the preparatory committee, followed by the release of a commemorative wall magazine.
The meeting was presided over by Dr. Basanta Kumar Goswami, President of the Assam Sahitya Sabha, and conducted by General Secretary Debajit Bora.
Highlights of the session included the unveiling of seven new books and the recognition of 15 branch units for their outstanding contributions to the literary movement.
