AURA Robotics Summer Camp Sets North-East India University Student-Led Robotics Record

GUWAHATI: AURA – Automation & Robotics Association of Gauhati University has earned recognition from the Book of World Records for conducting the “Largest University Student-Led Robotics Summer Camp in North-East India in a Single Venue for Four Consecutive Days.”

Led by AURA founders Pritam Das and Harish Dutta, the AURA Robotics Summer Camp 2026 brought school students closer to hands-on STEM education, providing them with opportunities to learn through practical experimentation, robotics and innovation beyond the conventional classroom environment.

The four-day camp encouraged participating students to build, experiment and develop a practical understanding of robotics and emerging technologies. The initiative sought to make STEM education more engaging and accessible by placing students at the centre of the learning process.

Following the recognition, AURA Board Members Pritam Das, Harish Dutta, Pragya Prapti Gogoi, Tamanna Paul and Pritish Sinha, along with Campus Core Committee Leads Dibyajyoti Deka and Gourab Talukdar, presented the World Record certificate to Gauhati University Vice Chancellor Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta and Registrar Prof. Utpal Sarma.

The recognition marks a significant achievement for AURA and the Gauhati University student community, highlighting the potential of student-led initiatives in promoting practical education and technological innovation.

For AURA, however, the record is being viewed not as an endpoint but as a beginning. The association plans to take practical STEM education beyond conventional classrooms, reach students at the grassroots level, create greater opportunities for young learners to build and innovate, and expand student-led initiatives across Assam and the wider North-East.

With its focus on hands-on learning and student-driven innovation, AURA aims to encourage a new generation of learners to explore robotics, technology and STEM through practical experience.
