Bodoland CEM Cup 2025 Kicks Off with Enthusiasm Across BTR

Kokrajhar, June 16, 2025:

The Bodoland CEM Cup 2025, a landmark football tournament initiated under the leadership of BTR Chief Executive Member Shri Pramod Boro, officially kicked off this week, drawing overwhelming enthusiasm from youth across the four districts of the Bodoland Territorial Region—Kokrajhar, Baksa, Chirang, and Udalguri.

Launched on June 14, the event is aimed at nurturing sporting talent, fostering leadership, and promoting unity among the region’s youth. The tournament is being held across multiple venues and will run over the next several weeks, featuring matches between dozens of local teams. The grand opening ceremony witnessed the presence of large crowds, sports enthusiasts, local leaders, and BTC officials.

Speaking at the inauguration, CEM Pramod Boro highlighted the role of sports in shaping society. “Football is not just a game; it is a tool to inspire discipline, teamwork, and identity among our young generation. The CEM Cup is a platform for our youth to shine and connect through the spirit of healthy competition,” he said.

The initiative has received strong support from the public and has begun generating traction on social media, showcasing the performances of budding footballers across BTR. Organisers have announced that the tournament will become an annual feature and plans are already underway to include additional sporting categories from next year onward.

The Bodoland CEM Cup 2025 is not just a sporting event—it represents a larger push by the BTC administration to engage youth positively, build social harmony, and cultivate future leaders through sports.
