The Department of Financial Services has launched a nationwide three-month campaign from 1st July to 30th September 2025 with an aim to saturate all Gram Panchayats with key financial inclusion flagship schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY). The initiative is designed to ensure that every eligible citizen receives the benefits of these schemes, thereby promoting financial security and resilience among rural population.

All banks operating in Assam have commenced the campaign from 1st July 2025 and 261 camps had been organized across 27 districts in the state till 7th July 2025.

The campaign focuses on key activities such as reverification of KYC for existing inactive savings bank accounts and opening new bank accounts for unbanked adults under PMJDY. It also emphasizes the enrolment of eligible individuals under PMJJBY and PMSBY to provide life and accident insurance coverage. Additionally, the campaign encourages enrolment in the Atal Pension Yojana (APY) to promote retirement planning among the rural population. A strong emphasis is also being placed on conducting awareness sessions to educate the public about digital fraud prevention, accessing unclaimed deposits, and the grievance redressal mechanism.

In this regard a Special State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) meeting was held on 24th June 2025 at Janata Bhawan, under the chairmanship of Dr. J. B. Ekka, Additional Chief Secretary of Assam. The meeting focused on ensuring the successful implementation of the saturation campaign across all Gram Panchayats in Assam.
