Central Bureau of Communication organizes Special Awareness Programme at Guwahati

The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional Office, Guwahati, organized a Special Awareness Programme today at Narengi, Guwahati, centered around the themes Swachhata Hi Seva and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam. The initiative is part of CBC’s ongoing state-wide campaign to promote public awareness and community engagement across Assam.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from the  students of ASEB High School. Shri Binod Sarma, the headmaster of the school, graced the event along with Smt. Kabita Sarma, Councillor of ward number 57, who shared insightful thoughts on sustainable living and the importance of cleanliness, afforestation. Shri Sarma emphasized the collective responsibility of individuals in shaping a healthier, greener nation. Smt. Sucharita Sahoo, Field Publicity Officer, CBC, Guwahati spoke about the aim and significance of the programme in her welcome address.

A key feature of the programme was a quiz competition based on various flagship schemes of the Government of India. The interactive session engaged students actively, and winners were awarded prizes on the spot, encouraging awareness through learning. Earlier in the day, a plantation drive was conducted as part of the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative. Students and faculty members participated with enthusiasm, planting saplings to contribute to a greener environment.

The event concluded with a vibrant cultural performance by a private registered troupe under CBC, Guwahati. Their dynamic and engaging presentation effectively conveyed the core messages of the campaign.
