Kokrajhar, September 3: In a significant political development ahead of the BTC elections, Senior Congress leader and former Chairman of the BTR Congress Observer Committee, Garjan Machahary, along with 14 party workers, joined the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) today.
Machahary and his associates were formally welcomed into the party fold by MLA Lawrence Ishlary, BTC Executive Member and UPPL candidate for the Baokhungri constituency Ranjit Basumatary, and UPPL Women’s Wing President Pratibha Brahma.
