In a late-night operation on Sunday, Dispur Police conducted a surprise raid in Guwahati’s Ganeshguri area, targeting alleged immoral activities. The crackdown, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Mrinal Deka, resulted in the arrest of 18 individuals.
Among those detained were six men, six women, and six transgender persons, all reportedly involved in activities considered unlawful by authorities.
According to police sources, the operation was carried out as part of an ongoing drive to strengthen law and order and uphold public safety in the city.
The arrested individuals are currently undergoing interrogation, and further investigations are in progress.
