Four Detained in Barpeta Road Jewellery Showroom Robbery Case
Barpeta Road, February 21: Police have detained four accused in connection with the jewellery showroom robbery at Senco Alankar in Barpeta Road, Assam.
The detained individuals have been identified as Rohit Kumar, Priyanshu Kumar, Mukesh Das, and Tushar Das. Interrogation is currently underway to ascertain their roles in the crime and to trace other members of the gang.
It may be mentioned that a major armed robbery was reported at the Senco Alankar jewellery showroom in Barpeta Road, where a five-member gang allegedly looted gold and diamond ornaments worth around ₹12 crore in broad daylight.
According to reports, the robbers entered the showroom armed with pistols, threatened employees at gunpoint, and tied them up with cable ties to prevent any resistance. The assailants also reportedly smashed CCTV cameras inside the premises before fleeing with the valuables.
Police are continuing their investigation and further details are awaited.
