GUWAHATI: Assam education minister Ranoj Pegu confirmed high school leaving certificate (HSLC) and higher secondary (HS) examinations will be held, though the dates have not been fixed yet.

Pegu on Tuesday said that unlike CBSE, class 10 exams under the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) would not be cancelled.

“The exams will be held. There is no alternative. CBSE canceled its class 10 exams. But in case of Assam, SEBA has to conduct HSLC exams to give marks to our candidates. So, both HS and HSLC exams would be held,” Pegu said.

The dates and modes of examinations would be declared once the COVID-19 situation improves in the state informed the minister.
