Senior Assam Cabinet Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah expressed pride and admiration while attending the grand “Bagurumba D’hoho” cultural programme held under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, in the esteemed presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Jayanta Malla Baruah said the programme was organised with the vision of presenting the rich cultural heritage of Assam’s diverse communities on a national and global platform. He stated that he was deeply moved by the magnificent performance in which more than 10,000 artists danced together in perfect coordination to the rhythmic beats of traditional instruments, creating a breathtaking cultural spectacle.
He said that the overwhelming success of the programme clearly reflects the BJP-led government’s commitment to the all-round development of every community in the state, where cultural preservation goes hand in hand with inclusive growth.
Jayanta Malla Baruah further said that the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at such a grand cultural event has given new recognition and dignity to Assam’s indigenous traditions at the national and international level.
The programme was attended by the Governor of Assam Lakshman Prasad Acharya, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of State Pabitra Margherita, BTC Chief Executive Member Hagrama Mohilary, along with several cabinet ministers, Members of Parliament, MLAs, and other distinguished dignitaries.
The historic cultural celebration was held at the Bhogeswar Barua Sports Complex, Sarusajai, Guwahati, and will be remembered as a proud milestone in Assam’s cultural journey.
