Jyotiraditya Scindia, mother test positive for coronavirus; admitted to Delhi hospital

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jyotiraditya Scindia and his mother Madhavi Raje Scindia on Tuesday tested positive for coronavirus.

News agency PTI has mentioned sources as confirming that Scindia has tested positive for COVID-19.

The mother-son duo were admitted to Max Super Speciality hospital in Delhi’s Saket on Monday after they complained of throat irritation. They also had fever.

No statement has been issued either by Max hospital or the Scindia family.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi tweeted: “Not so good news. Jyotiraditya Scindia and his mother have tested positive for corona, The former Cong turned BJP leader from MP has been admitted to hospital.. Wish him a speedy recovery!”

Recently, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra, who was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Haryana’s Gurugram after showing coronavirus-like symptoms, tweeted earlier today that he has been discharged. “Prayers for @JM_Scindiaji and his mother Get well soon,” tweeted Patra.

In another development, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal underwent COVID-19 test earlier today after he complained of sore throat and mild fever on Sunday afternoon.

The test report will probably come later tonight or by Wednesday morning.
