Unidentified miscreants allegedly looted cash from a donation box inside the Jame Masjid at Harmuti in Lakhimpur district of Assam late last night (May 8th, 2019).
As per sources, the thieves broke the donation box and decamped with the cash. The incident came to the fore when people reached the masjid on the morning of May 9th, 2019 to offer fajr namaz and found the donation box broken.
On receiving information, the local police rushed to the spot and began an investigation into the incident.
