Guwahati: A man aged above 50 died after reportedly falling into a well in Hatigaon on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Shyamal Saha, who was staying as a tenant on LNB Road in Hatigaon. He was reportedly originally from Cooch Behar in West Bengal and worked as a mason in the Dispur area.
Following the incident, personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Hatigaon Police reached the location and launched a rescue operation.
Saha was subsequently recovered from the well but was declared dead after being brought out.
