How would you describe your own personality?
As I have lived in a lot of smaller and bigger cities in our country, I am very accommodative. I am humble and grounded as meeting different people has taught me to respect all cultures and people. I am expressive of my thoughts and emotions and have always learnt to do it confidently and boldly. I am also a very cheerful person and even during tough times I remain calm and optimistic. I am determined as I lost 15 kgs in 3 months for the auditions and becoming a paragliding pilot taught me patience and focus.

Who is the most influential person in your life?
The most influential person in my life is my mother as my father is in the Infantry & many a times she had to take care of me and her work single handedly and make sure neither got affected. She gave her 100% in both and made sure there was a balance, nurtured both with love and hardwork. She is also a very happy and content person. Her happiness doesn’t depend on a specific thing or a person, she can enjoy her own company as well and I believe that’s true independence.

What is the craziest rumor you have heard about yourself?
As my hair is really straight and big cheeks, a person thought I was Assamese and told everyone that I was.

What has been your biggest achievement before Miss India?
I believe my biggest achievement has been that I was able to rescue a sick animal and gave it a healthy home to live in and it is now happy & healthy.

If you were to give one bit of advice to the youth today, what would it be?
If I had to give one bit of advice to the youth it would be that, don’t compare your achievements to anyone else’s because comparison is the thief of joy. Never doubt yourself based on other people’s progress as you will have your own journey, learnings and accomplishments. Work hard, be humble and enjoy every moment in life.

If god will grant you one wish, what would you ask for?
I would ask him to address the world and tell everyone what he truly wants from humanity and religion which is harmony and respect for one another and not violence in the name of communism.

What is your edge over the other contestants?
Though all the contestants are confident, intelligent and beautiful women I believe I have edge over others because I am not only optimistic but self aware, I don’t just wish to influence but to inspire, I am not just motivated but driven.

Who do you think is the sexiest man alive today?
Rather than sexy, the most handsome man alive today according to me is Barack Obama because I believe being attractive is not just about fitness but also about a person’s thoughts, opinions, presence of mind and competence with the evolving world. I really respect all of those qualities in him.

The last movie that made you cry…
The last movie that made me cry was Raazi as I was moved to see the love a person can have for their country even when they get nothing out of it. The disappointment she faced in the end made me a little emotional.
