Beauty queen begins her journey to compete at the Miss Universe India 2026 event
Guwahati, July 18: Miss Universe Assam 2026, Pinky Basumatary, was spotted at Guwahati International Airport on Saturday morning as she departed for Jaipur to represent Assam at the prestigious Miss Universe India 2026 competition.
Pinky’s journey at the national pageant officially begins on July 18 and will continue until August 29, 2026, where contestants from across the country will compete for the coveted Miss Universe India crown.
Hailing from Jakhangpu in Assam’s Tamulpur district, Pinky has emerged as one of the state’s most promising young talents in the world of pageantry. She earned the title of Miss Universe Assam 2026 after winning the state finale held in April 2026 at Dhaligaon in Chirang district.
The grand finale of Miss Universe Assam 2026 and Miss Teen India 2026 was organised by the Aronai Entertainment Co-operative Society Limited in association with Art & Motion Dance Studio and Society, bringing together contestants from different parts of Assam.
With her departure for Jaipur, Pinky now carries the hopes and aspirations of Assam as she prepares to compete against participants from across India on one of the country’s biggest beauty pageant platforms.
Her participation marks another proud moment for the state, showcasing the talent and potential of young women from Assam on the national stage.
