GUWAHATI: The ‘Nandy Sisters’- Ankita Nandy and Antara Nandy thanked Assam minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for sharing their video through a twitter post.
Due to the ongoing Lockdown across the country, the duo, currently residing in Pune could’nt visit Assam during the Bohag Bihu.
Normally they participate in various Bihu programs across Assam and this year due to lockdown and COVID-19 pandemic they had to stay indoors. So they came up with this amazing idea of coming live to entertain people with their beautiful songs.
In an exclusive interview with Guwahati Times Media, the duo thanked the people of Assam for showing so much love and support towards their recent work.

A bihu song which they recorded in their mobile and posted in Social media went viral and people asked them to make more videos. Surprisingly Assam health and finance Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma also shared the the video in his twitter handle.
They said, “We were surprised to see our video shared by Himanta sir. We were so surprised that we kept checking the tweet every two minutes as we could’nt believe if he really shared our video. It was really a very special moment for us.”
The singer thanked the government for doing a commendable job in saving thousands of lives. The duo also urged people to stay indoors and utilise the time with creative activities.
It is to be mentioned that Antara Nandy is an Indian playback singer from Assam. She became known after reaching the final rounds and becoming one of the top three girl finalists in the music talent and reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs-2009 which was aired on Zee TV.
