The National Statistical Office (NSO) under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) is set to conduct enhanced surveys starting in January 2025. As part of these efforts, a four-day Regional Training Camp (RTC) is being held from December 16 to December 19, 2024, in Guwahati for all field personnel involved in these surveys in the Field Operations Divisions, Regional Office Guwahati .
Smt. Pally Kundu ISS, Additional Director General, inaugurated the Regional Training Camp and stressed the importance of health data for compiling the National Health. She also encouraged regional offices to ensure the timely and accurate collection of data, especially as they are tasked with handling an enormous volume of information.
Smt. Swapnalee Bhattacharya ISS, Deputy Director General, highlighted the growing importance of the surveys, particularly the increase in sample size, which will more than double the number of households covered compared to previous rounds. She emphasized the significant role of these surveys in estimating labour force and household enterprises, and urged the public to cooperate with the surveyors to ensure accurate data collection.
