GUWAHATI: A newly married couple was found dead under mysterious circumstances at their residence in Jyotinagar, Sonapur, on the outskirts of Guwahati, on October 25.
The deceased have been identified as Suraj Tumung and Mallika Tumung, who had married around eight months ago. According to reports, Suraj’s body was found hanging, while Mallika was found lying on the floor.
While Suraj’s family has claimed that both died by suicide, Mallika’s family has disputed the claim, alleging that she faced physical and mental harassment after marriage. Her family has demanded a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Police have initiated an investigation, and the exact cause and circumstances of the deaths remain to be established.
