Barpeta, September 29: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested six individuals in Assam’s Barpeta district in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged anti-national activities, officials said on Tuesday.
The federal agency conducted search operations late Monday night across areas under the jurisdiction of Howly, Barpeta Road and Sorbhog police stations.
Following the searches, three individuals were taken into custody from Sorbhog, two from Barpeta Road and one from Howly.
According to officials, the arrests are part of an ongoing investigation into activities allegedly posing a threat to national security.
