Noted journalist and educationist Prafulla Rajguru passed away this morning at a private hospital here due to certain ailments. Rajguru, who was 81, leaves behind his wife, a daughter, son in-law and a host of relatives.
He was a former resident editor of the Jorhat edition of the Assamese daily Amar Asom and also served as Desk Consultant of the Dainik Janambhumi, an Assamese daily prior to joining the former newspaper.
Rajguru was the founder-president of Jorhat Press Club. Prior to joining journalism, Rajguru worked as a professor in the English department of DCB Girls’ College till his retirement.
Several organisations including the Jorhat Press Club have mourned the demise of Rajguru. Governor jagdish Mukhi and Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal too have expressed their condolences on his death
