New Delhi: At least 12 people were injured after an Air India flight from Phuket to Delhi encountered severe turbulence during its journey on Tuesday, triggering panic among passengers and crew members onboard.
According to reports, Air India flight AI2379, operated by an Airbus A320 aircraft, experienced sudden turbulence while cruising at high altitude. The unexpected turbulence reportedly caused the aircraft to briefly lose around 300 feet of altitude, resulting in injuries to several passengers and cabin crew members.
Despite the mid-air scare, the flight continued its journey and landed safely at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Medical teams were deployed upon arrival to provide immediate assistance to those injured.
Air India confirmed the incident and stated that all affected passengers and crew members received the necessary medical attention. The airline also assured that the safety and well-being of passengers remain its highest priority.
