New Delhi, July 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met Members of Parliament from Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland at Parliament House to review the flood situation in the two northeastern states.
In a post on social media, the Prime Minister said the discussions focused on the prevailing flood conditions and the challenges faced by people in the affected areas. He assured that the Central Government would continue working closely with the respective state governments to tackle the situation and provide all necessary support.
“I pray for everyone’s wellbeing and safety,” PM Modi said, expressing concern for those affected by the floods.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju also shared details of the meeting on social media, stating that the Prime Minister assured the MPs of full assistance from the Centre. According to Rijiju, PM Modi issued necessary directions to ensure timely relief, restoration of essential services, and support for flood-affected communities in both states.
Several parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland have witnessed heavy rainfall and flooding in recent weeks, affecting normal life, damaging infrastructure, and disrupting connectivity in multiple districts. The Centre and the respective state governments are continuing relief and rehabilitation efforts to assist those impacted by the floods.
