Pollution Control Board Chairman Visits GEM Programme at NTPC Bongaigaon

Bongaigaon, July 24: Dr. Arup Kumar Misra, Chairman of the Pollution Control Board, Assam, visited the Girl Empowerment Mission (GEM) venue at NTPC Bongaigaon and interacted with the young participants of the transformative initiative.

Dr. Misra was accompanied by Anurag Gupta, General Manager (O&M), Smt. Sheeja Ambika Sasidharan, AGM (EMG), and senior officials from the HR and EMG departments. The visit served as a motivational and educational experience for the girls enrolled in the programme.

Speaking in an engaging and accessible manner, Dr. Misra stressed the significance of environmental conservation, women’s empowerment, and developing a strong sense of purpose. He inspired the girls with real-life examples of accomplished women, encouraging them to believe in their capabilities and to dream big.

In a warm and thoughtful gesture, Dr. Misra also handed over small educational kits to the participants, adding a personal and memorable touch to the session.

He commended NTPC Bongaigaon for its commendable efforts in empowering young girls through the GEM initiative, calling it a model programme that fosters confidence, awareness, and aspiration among the next generation of women leaders.
