Trailer Builds Buzz Ahead of August 7 Release.
Guwahati, July 20, 2026: The countdown to one of Assamese cinema’s most anticipated releases this year officially began on Monday with the launch of the trailer of Rootstock Entertainments’ upcoming much awaited feature film ‘Oiii Police!!!’ in Guwahati.
The event witnessed the presence of the film’s cast and crew, members of the media and film fraternity, with the trailer receiving an enthusiastic response from those in attendance.
The trailer offers a glimpse into a film that combines action, humour, emotion and family entertainment while hinting at a story that goes beyond the conventions of a typical police drama. Scheduled for a theatrical release on August 7, ‘Oiii Police!!!’ stars Superstar Ravi Sarma and Amrita Gogoi in the lead and marks the much-awaited reunion of Ravi Sarma and director Suvrat (Suv) Kakoti after the acclaimed Shri Raghupati.
Addressing the gathering after the trailer launch, superstar Ravi Sarma said, “Every film is special, but this one carries a different kind of excitement. The love we received today after the trailer launch is overwhelming. It tells us that people are ready to experience this story in theatres. I sincerely hope Oiii Police!!! entertains families and gives audiences another memorable cinematic experience on August 7.”
Speaking about the film, director Suvrat (Suv) Kakoti said, “From the very beginning, our intention was to make a complete entertainer; one that people would want to watch with their families on the big screen. We have worked extensively on the screenplay, performances, music and visual scale because audiences today expect much more from regional cinema. The trailer is only a glimpse; the film has many more surprises waiting.”
Lead actor Amrita Gogoi said the response at the trailer launch reflected the affection audiences continue to have for Assamese cinema. She said, “The response to the trailer reassures us that good stories continue to find audiences. Working alongside Ravi da and under Suv’s direction has been a wonderful learning experience, and I cannot wait for everyone to watch the complete film in theatres.”
Written and directed by Suvrat Kakoti, ‘Oiii Police!!!’ is backed by Rootstock Entertainments and brings together a strong creative team, including Pranoy Dutta as music director and Hridoy Gogoi (Gogo) as director of photography.
With the successful Ravi Sarma–Suvrat Kakoti-Pranay Dutta collaboration returning after Shri Raghupati and the trailer generating considerable excitement at its launch, ‘Oiii Police!!!’ now heads towards its theatrical release on August 7, carrying the promise of a wholesome theatrical entertainer for Assamese audiences.
