Remember BJP MP Who Was Mudbathing And Blowing Conch To Prevent COVID? He Has Tested Positive

Does the name Sukhbir Jaunapuria ring a bell? No, don’t worry, let me help. Remember the recent video of a politician sitting in a pool of mud with a conch shell in his hand and making some absurd claims?

On Monday, he was one of the 24 MPs who were tested positive for COVID-19 on the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament.

He tested positive for COVID-19 a month after the MP from Tonk–Sawai Madhopur constituency in Rajasthan uploaded a video on his Facebook page.

In the video, Jaunapuria was seen sitting in a muddy field, with a conch shell in his hand.

He then went on to claim that blowing conch shell and bathing in the mud will enhance his lung capacity and being close to nature will save him from getting infected from coronavirus.

“Go out, get wet in the rain, sit in the dirt, work on the farm, blow a conch … and eat ‘desi’ things. One gains immunity from doing these things,” Jaunapuria said in the video.

While what Jaunapuria said was clearly absurd, he was not the first politician to give unsubstantiated advice on how to prevent COVID-19, but it did not work for them.
