Rituparna Dhar: Beauty, Brains and a Journey Beyond Boundaries

At 23, Rituparna represents a generation of young women who refuse to be defined by a single identity. A mathematics graduate currently pursuing her master’s degree, she balances academics with teaching, modelling, professional dancing and civil service preparation.
For Rituparna, modelling is not simply about appearances. It is about personality, authenticity, confidence and the courage to explore one’s potential.
Where the Journey Began
Rituparna’s modelling journey began in 2024 when she participated in the national-level pageant “Your Fashion Our Show”. Competing against 53 contestants from different parts of the country, she secured the second runner-up position in the Miss category.
That early recognition gave her the confidence to pursue bigger opportunities. In January 2026, she was crowned Miss Universal Assam, opening the doors to the Universal India platform and eventually leading to her latest achievement.
The Crown That Changed Everything
On October 31, 2026, in New Delhi, Rituparna achieved another milestone by winning the Miss Intercelestial India 2026–27 title. She describes the achievement as an overwhelming moment, particularly because of what it means to her mother and family.
She also takes pride in representing Assam and the Northeast on a national pageant platform, describing her achievement as the first of its kind for the region.
Beyond the Glamour: A Test of Determination
Behind the crown was a challenging journey. Rituparna reveals that she was battling fever throughout the competition and eventually lost her voice due to a sore throat. In a pageant where communication and confidence play an important role, this became one of her biggest challenges.
Despite the difficulties, she continued with determination and managed to overcome the situation. Her experience became a reminder that success is often shaped by the ability to keep going even when circumstances are far from perfect.
Learning, Preparing and Finding Her Own Way
Unlike many aspiring models who have access to professional training facilities, Rituparna did not have the same opportunities in her hometown. She was not a formally trained model when she began her journey.
With support from her state director and the Universal India organisation, she worked on improving her skills. She also relied on YouTube tutorials and Instagram pages to learn more about modelling, presentation and pageantry.
Her journey reflects how determination and self-learning can help bridge the gap between limited opportunities and ambitious dreams.
A Woman of Many Talents
Beyond modelling, Rituparna has built a multifaceted identity. She is pursuing her master’s degree in Mathematics, works as a teacher, prepares for the civil services and is also a professional dancer skilled in diverse dance forms.
She describes herself as a sports enthusiast and an artist, believing that every individual has multiple dimensions worth exploring.
Her ambition is to challenge stereotypes and encourage young women to pursue different interests without limiting themselves to conventional expectations.
Looking Ahead: The International Stage
Winning Miss Intercelestial India 2026–27 is not the end of Rituparna’s journey. It is the beginning of another significant chapter.
The Miss Intercelestial World competition is expected to take place in August 2027. Rituparna is now looking forward to preparing for the international platform and giving her best.
With academics, teaching and modelling continuing to shape her journey, she hopes to make the most of every opportunity that comes her way.
A Message to Young Girls of Assam
For Rituparna, the most important lesson from her journey is to believe in oneself and remain committed to one’s dreams. She wants young girls across Assam to understand that opportunities can be created through dedication, hard work and self-confidence.
Beyond the Crown
From a young aspiring model in Sribhumi to Miss Intercelestial India 2026–27, Rituparna Dhar’s journey is one of ambition, resilience and self-belief.
As she sets her sights on the international stage in 2027, her story carries a message for aspiring young women across Assam: believe in your potential, embrace your individuality and never stop pursuing your dreams.
