Samay Raina Takes Dig at Badshah-Honey Singh Feud on India’s Got Latent 2

Comedian Samay Raina is back with another members-only episode of India’s Got Latent 2, and a playful reference to the long-running Badshah-Honey Singh feud has caught the attention of social media users.

The latest bonus episode was released for YouTube channel members on August 10 at 7 pm. Within an hour of its release, several clips from the episode began circulating online, with one particular moment involving Samay’s song leaving viewers amused.

Samay Raina’s cheeky Honey Singh reference

During the episode, Samay Raina jokingly sang a line referencing rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh, saying, “Yo Yo Honey Singh ka fan hoon main.”

He followed it with a series of humorous lyrics, including a reference to Honey Singh’s popular track Brown Rang. The moment was widely interpreted by viewers as a light-hearted dig at Badshah, given the rappers’ long-standing differences.

The connection to Brown Rang stems from the history of the two artists, who were once members of the hip-hop collective Mafia Mundeer. After the group and their professional partnership came to an end, disagreements emerged over the credits and creation of several songs associated with that period.

Badshah had previously claimed that he wrote the lyrics for Brown Rang, while Honey Singh was responsible for composing the music. The issue resurfaced in July 2025 when Badshah commented “Credits” on a social media post related to Honey Singh.

Badshah’s comments on his stage name resurface

The episode also brought another old Badshah-Honey Singh moment back into the spotlight.

During the show, Samay asked Badshah how he got his stage name. Badshah said that he had chosen the name himself.

Following the episode, however, social media users resurfaced an older clip in which Badshah had reportedly said that Honey Singh was the one who gave him the stage name “Badshah.”

The old clip quickly went viral, prompting a reaction from Honey Singh, who commented, “Meri nallaayak aulaad” (My worthless child).

The exchange added another layer of humour to the episode, with viewers connecting Badshah’s appearance on the show to his past association with Honey Singh.
