Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 FE has made an appearance in the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) database, revealing some interesting details about the phone’s connectivity hardware.
The listing comes shortly after Samsung introduced its latest foldable smartphones and suggests that the Galaxy S26 FE could arrive in the coming weeks. While the filing does not directly confirm the phone’s complete chipset configuration, it points to an unusual combination of Samsung and Qualcomm technologies.
Galaxy S26 FE may combine Exynos and Qualcomm hardware
One of the most interesting details in the FCC documentation is the presence of both Samsung LSI (S.LSI) and Qualcomm FastConnect technologies.
At first glance, this could suggest that Samsung is preparing different Galaxy S26 FE variants featuring either an Exynos or Snapdragon platform depending on the market. However, the details in the filing indicate that the two technologies are being used for different wireless functions.
According to the filing, Samsung’s S.LSI technology is associated with the phone’s cellular or WWAN functionality, while Qualcomm FastConnect is listed for WLAN connectivity, which includes Wi-Fi.
That distinction is important because Qualcomm FastConnect is not the same as a Snapdragon mobile processor or Qualcomm cellular modem. FastConnect is Qualcomm’s technology platform for local wireless connectivity, including Wi-Fi and related features.
Interestingly, Qualcomm devices using its modem technology are generally associated with “Smart Transmit” references in regulatory documents. Such references do not appear in this particular FCC filing.
Does the Galaxy S26 FE have an Exynos chipset?
The information has led to speculation that the Galaxy S26 FE could feature an Exynos chipset and modem while using a Qualcomm component specifically for Wi-Fi and other local wireless functions.
If accurate, this would represent a change from the Galaxy S25 FE. The previous FE model’s FCC documentation referenced Samsung transmission technologies without the same Qualcomm FastConnect combination.
It is still unclear why Samsung may have opted for Qualcomm’s wireless solution this time. Factors such as cost, size, efficiency, reliability or performance could potentially have influenced the decision.
The filing also appears to make a Snapdragon-powered US version less likely, although the FCC documentation alone does not completely rule out regional hardware differences.
Galaxy S26 FE tipped to support 45W charging
The FCC documents also provide another important detail about the upcoming phone: 45W wired charging.
This matches information from an earlier regulatory filing and suggests that Samsung will once again equip the FE model with faster wired charging than the standard Galaxy flagship.
The Galaxy S26 FE is expected to launch soon, although Samsung has yet to officially announce the phone or confirm its complete specifications. More details about the processor, regional variants and other hardware are likely to emerge ahead of the launch.
