Boko, June 7: In a successful late-night operation, a team from Chamaria Police Patrol Post led by IC, Chamaria PP, SI Mridul Das, apprehended three suspected criminals following a vehicle chase in Kamrup district during the early hours of Sunday.
According to police sources, the patrol team noticed a Bolero vehicle moving suspiciously at Boralimara under Chamaria PP at around 2:30 AM. When signalled to stop, the driver ignored the police direction and attempted to flee. The vehicle was subsequently chased and intercepted at Alekjari under Boko Police Station.
Police apprehended three occupants of the vehicle, identified as Sanidul Ali (21), Mujammil Haque (31), and Tames Ali (26), all residents of Barpeta district. Two other occupants managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness.
During the operation, police seized the Bolero vehicle (Registration No. AS02AB8815) along with a wire/bolt cutter, ropes, sellotape and other incriminating articles suspected to be used in criminal activities.
Preliminary verification revealed that one of the apprehended accused, Sanidul Ali, is allegedly involved in multiple criminal cases registered at Mukalmua and Tarabari Police Stations.
Police have initiated necessary legal proceedings and launched efforts to apprehend the absconding accused while further investigation is underway to ascertain their involvement in other criminal activities.
