The investigation into the death of former model and actor Twisha Sharma has entered a crucial phase, with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) reportedly examining fresh concerns related to the handling of key evidence and procedural lapses during the initial probe.
Twisha Sharma was found dead at her matrimonial home in Bhopal on May 12, 2026, just months after her marriage. Her family has consistently alleged dowry harassment and foul play, while the case has drawn nationwide attention due to the involvement of influential individuals and the circumstances surrounding her death.
In recent developments, investigators are reportedly scrutinising delays in the recovery of crucial evidence, including the alleged ligature material, mobile phone, laptop, and other items linked to the case. Reports suggest the CBI may question police officials involved in the initial investigation regarding the timing and manner of evidence collection.
The probe has also been overshadowed by a fresh controversy after questions were raised in court over how certain investigation-related documents allegedly became part of filings submitted by the accused during ongoing proceedings. The matter has added another layer of scrutiny to the high-profile case.
Meanwhile, Twisha’s husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law Giribala Singh remain in judicial custody as the CBI continues its investigation. Both have been named as accused in the case and are being questioned over allegations linked to dowry death and destruction of evidence.
Adding to the family’s concerns, Twisha Sharma’s relatives have recently approached the court over reported delays in the issuance of her death certificate. The court has issued notices in the matter, with the family seeking a transparent and expedited process.
Earlier, the CBI conducted a detailed crime scene reconstruction at the Bhopal residence where Twisha was found dead. The exercise was aimed at verifying statements and reconstructing the sequence of events leading up to her death.
With forensic examinations, digital evidence analysis, witness statements, and procedural aspects all under review, the investigation remains ongoing. No final conclusion has yet been reached regarding the exact circumstances of Twisha Sharma’s death.
The case continues to be closely watched across the country, with demands for accountability, transparency, and justice remaining at the centre of public discourse.
