To honour Assam Heartthrob, and mark 90 years of USHA, 90 Naahor saplings were planted during a tree plantation drive in Guwahati, led by Indian Aawaz Foundation, and Vrikshit Foundation.
Held at Pragjyotish College premises and along the Bharalu River, the initiative saw enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers The Naahor tree, Zubeen Garg’s favourite, symbolised love, culture, and environmental responsibility.
Principal Dr. Manoj Kr. Mahanta planted the first sapling, while USHA Divisional Manager Sanjay Debnath and Indian Aawaz Foundation Director Nazim Ahmed expressed joy over paying tribute to Zubeen Da through a sustainable initiative.
The programme was widely appreciated as a thoughtful tribute and a strong message for environmental conservation.
