The flood situation in Assam took a turn for the worse on Thursday, resulting in the loss of one life and affecting nearly five lakh individuals across 12 districts, as per an official bulletin.
According to the latest flood report from the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), the casualty occurred due to flooding in Tamulpur, located in the Udalguri district.
This tragic incident marks the first recorded flood-related fatality this year, confirmed an ASDMA official.
