Former Indian test captain Ajit Wadekar passed away today at the age of 77.

 

The former captain had been suffering from prolonged illness for a long period before breathing his last in Mumbai today.

Making his entry into Indian criket in 1966, he played his first match against West Indies. He guided the Indian team as the national captain in the year 1971 apart from being a part of India’s first ever ODI in 1974 and playing 37 tests for India.
