Guwahati || 31 May- The exemplary attitude, presence of mind and dedication and devotion to duty of every Railwaymen time and again sets an example for other colleagues. Railway staff awarded by General Manager, N.F. Railway for showing exceptional devotion towards duty.
On 02.04.19, Shri Kakan Sarkar, Driver and Shri Amardip Kumar, Asst. Driver under Alipurduar Division noticed smoke coming out from the pantry car of train No-12502 Up New Delhi – Guwahati Poorvattar Sampark Kranti Express which was coming on up line after starting from New Coochbehar station from the opposite direction. They immediately showed Red hand signal to the Driver & Asst. Driver of the Up Poorvattar Sampark Kranti Express. 12502 Up Poorvattar Sampark Kranti Express was stopped immediately and fire was extinguished by using fire extinguisher. Due to their alertness a major mishap could be averted.
In recognition of their meritorious service, they were awarded with a cash award of Rs. 3, 000/- (Rupees Three thousand only) each along with a certificate issued by the General Manager, N.F. Railway.
