Two dreaded NSCN leaders were arrested in a joint operation carried out by Assam Rifles and Jirighat PS in Cachar district of Assam under the leadership of Lakhipur SDPO Anurag Sharma.
The operation was carried out at Namdailing and Santipura areas along the Manipur border.
The arrested leaders have been identified as Kabigai Rongmai and Raiflung aka Rahul.
Rongmai is a former publicity secretary of NSCN (K) who presently holds a high rank in NSCN (R).
Rahul was arrested on the basis of confession of Rongmai.
The duo was in the ‘most wanted’ list of Guwahati-based NIA and are being presently interrogated at Jiringhat PS.
