A 24 year-old woman shared about a shocking incident in a Facebook post that happened with her while travelling in a bus in Guwahati.
She later filed a complaint in Jalukbari police station stating she had to jump off a moving bus to save herself from being raped in Guwahati on Wednesday evening.
The incident took place at Jalukbari area of the city.
She was travelling to Sixmile and boarded a bus at around 5 pm from Adabari bus stop which was a Panjabari-Jalukbari route bus.
After every passenger deboarded the bus at Jalukbari, the bus conductor allegedly asked the woman remain seated and said the bus would go to Sixmile, which was actually travelling in the opposite direction.
She did not wait any further and jumped off the bus. She suffered injuries in her legs and hand.
A case has been registered in Jalukbari police station under Section 354A, 511 and 34 of IPC.
“Based on the FIR, a team of Jalukbari Police and Crime Branch has started search operation against the bus and the accused. . We are enquiring about every bus that travels along the route where the incident took place,”stated assistant comissioner of police Jayanta Baruah, Jalukbari.
