GUWAHATI: The 54-year-old Meghalaya Police constable, identified as Ajay Baidya from the 1st Battalion, died at the Mahatma Gandhi University quarantine centre. The police man had to quarantine as he came in contact of a COVID 19 positive patient.
According to sources, the constable complained of stomachache, vomited blood and later fell unconscious.
An official in the health department said, “The exact cause of the death will be known only after receiving the post-mortem report”. Sources also said an antigen test was conducted immediately after the patient died, and the test result came out negative.
