Cong-AIUDF won’t get more than 30 seats: Himanta Biswa Sarma

Guwahati: Assam BJP’s key poll strategist Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today vowed to derail the design of the proposed Congress-AIUDF alliance.
Dr Sarma asserted that the ‘Congress-AIUDF’ alliance would be restricted to 20-30 seats in the next assembly election in Assam.
Speaking to the media on the side line of a programme today, Sarma hinted that the ruling party (BJPP) has been gearing up to keep the Congress-AIUDF combine out of the corridors of power in Dispur yet again.

“On this auspicious occasion of Srimanta Sankardev’s tithi today, we pledge to restrict the two parties to between 20 and 30 seats in next year’s Assembly elections,” he said, while taking a dig at AIUDF, saying that any inroads to Dispur by Badaruddin Ajmal-led party could “be harmful to the culture, civilisation and integrity of the state.”
