Gaurav Gogoi urged the Centre for probe into deaths during stir against CAA

Moving a notice under Rule 377 in the Lok Sabha, Gogoi said that during the spontaneous agitation that broke out in Assam against the CAA, five unarmed youths – identified as Sam Stafford, Dipanjan Das, Abdul Alim, Ishwar Nayak and Dwijendra Pangin – died as a result of police firing.Gogoi said that the people of Assam do not accept the CAA because it violates the Assam Accord and makes the National Register of Citizens (NRC) toothless.
