COVID-19: Don Bosco school in Guwahati declared containment zone

Guwahati: Don Bosco School, Guwahati declared as containment zone after teachers of the institute were declared COVID-19 positive on Sunday.

On Sunday, an official circular issued by the Kamrup (Metro), Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu stated that “in view of detection of COVID 19 positive teachers at Don Bosco School, Guwahati of Kamrup Metropolitan District, in the interest of the of maintenance of public hygiene and to prevent further spread of COVID-19 virus amongst the teaching stall and students the entire area of the school premises is declared as CONTAINMENT ZONE for the next seven days w.e.f today and the Circle Officer. Guwahati Revenue circle is directed to seal the area immediately.

Any unauthorized entry and exit in the CONTAINMENT ZONE are barred for the next seven days.

Any movement of any individual and vehicle within the notified area is prohibited with immediate effect.

The order is made under the regulation” The Assam Covid-19 Repulatious 2020 and shall be effective from 21- February 2021 till 27 February 2021.

Further, the teachers are directed to attend the school for a covid-19 test at 10-00 AM on 22 February 2021 to be carried out by the team deputed by the joint Director of Health Services, Kamrup Metropolitan District. For this purpose, the principal, Don Bosco School will arrange a separate place outside the school campus. In case of students suffers from Covid-19 symptoms, the guardians will arrange Covid- 19 tests for their wards in their nearby Health Institutions immediately.

Any violation of the order will attract action under the provision of The “Assam COVID-19 regulations, 2020 and Disaster Management Act, 2005”. “The Epidemic Disease Act, 19″ the relevant laws of the nation”
